The Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition is a lightweight and powerful folding saw that will be the ideal companion for any expedition thanks to its high cutting efficiency and light weight.

Silky Outback - the perfect saw for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts

The Outback range has been designed specifically for outdoor and hunting use. The blades of this series are coated with a special black nickel-tin protective coating that extends their life and provides excellent cutting performance. Thanks to this treatment, the Outback saws can easily handle both wood and bone cutting.

The matte surface of the blade eliminates glare, which will also be appreciated by soldiers in tactical use.

Another innovation is the special handle material. As the saws are often used in cold and wet conditions, the handle has been made of Arbor composite material. This laminate combines the properties of wood and polymer, which ensures a pleasant feel even at low temperatures. The coarse texture also provides a firm grip and excellent control when cutting.

Safety at work is ensured by a locking mechanism that allows the blade to be locked in two positions (open/closed).

Three times harder blade

The blade is made with precision laser technology from high carbon steel, resistant to wear and mechanical damage. The key element that sets Silky blades apart from the competition is the unique hardening process. The teeth of the blade are heated and hardened only on the edges themselves (so-called pulse hardening), which keeps them sharp up to three times longer than conventional unhardened teeth.

Serrace Mirai Me

The Silky saw blade has a special Mirai Me serration with four cutting angles. Thanks to this profile, it is possible to cut continuously longitudinally, transversely and at an angle, leaving a perfectly smooth surface with each cut.

To make cutting more efficient and comfortable, the blade is ground to a conical shape (hourglass shape), which almost completely eliminates jamming of the saw in the wood and provides an exceptionally light and smooth cut regardless of the material type.

Universal size

The Silky Pocketboy Outback Edition features a 170mm long blade with wide serrations (10 teeth per 30mm of blade length), making it ideal for cutting both fresh and dry wood and bone.

Handle made of Arbor composite

Outdoor saws are often used all year round, including winter months and wet environments. That's why the handle is made of a special Arbor composite that combines the properties of wood and polymer. This material remains pleasantly warm even in low temperatures and its rough texture ensures a firm grip and perfect control over the saw.

Safety at work is further enhanced by the rear locking mechanism, which firmly secures the blade in both open and closed positions. When the saw is folded, the sharp teeth are fully retracted into the handle, allowing it to be carried safely in a backpack or hunting bag.

The saw is supplied with a transparent polymer sleeve.

Technologies used

Electropulse hardening

The tips of the teeth are heated to an extremely high temperature for a fraction of a second. Because only the tip (i.e. the cutting part of the tooth itself) is heated, the rest of the tooth retains its flexibility, which ensures greater durability of the saw. Induction hardened teeth last up to three times longer than conventional unhardened teeth. These special teeth cannot be sharpened and can be recognised by the black colouring at the ends.

Mirai-Me teeth

The ultra-sharp teeth are precision ground directly into the blade, each with three cutting edges, ensuring a perfectly smooth cut.

Thanks to patented technologyMIRAI-ME the saw can make three types of cuts:

• Cross section (perpendicular to the grain of the wood),
• Longitudinal cut (in the direction of the wood grain),
• Cutting at an angle (mitering).

When pruning trees, a smooth cut minimises damage and allows the wound to heal quickly. In joinery, it ensures a perfect cut without the need for additional sanding.

Unseparated teeth

The teeth are precision ground directly into the blade and each has four cutting surfaces. Due to the lack of tooth spacing, the saw cuts directly into the material, reducing wood damage by up to 50%.

The blades are ground to a biconvex shape:

• The lower part of the blade (near the teeth) is the widest,
• The middle part is the thinnest,
• The upper part is slightly narrowed.

This design provides a number of advantages:

• Lower force required for cutting,
• Smooth sawdust removal,
• Very clean and precise cut without damaging the wood.
