Reliability is not a given. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to perform consistently. That's what the new A400 HardTask is for. Its lightweight yet durable design makes you almost forget you're carrying it. But the moment you need it, a great deeply undercooled blade won't let you down. True-to-life and high safety in any situation make the new Alock A400 an excellent EDC knife for your everyday adventures.
Let's start from the tip. The blade of the new A400 is made from Uddeholm Sleipner steel, which is hardened to 60 HRC along with deep subcooling for even better performance. We've coated the surface of the already great steel with a DLC coating to ensure the blade is more durable while preventing unwanted glare. The blade shape of the now classic ANV bevel and high flat cut will ensure perfect cutting properties.
If you focus on the center of the knife, you'll notice that we've chosen a new "button" for the thumb to open the knife, which is perfect for opening the knife with one hand. the "button" is also equipped with an ANV lumidote. Just place your thumb on the top edge and open the knife with a light pull.
Speaking of opening. So we have equipped the knife with our new Alock system. The Alock locking mechanism is very safe and comfortable for both right and left-handed users. The lock pin is sharp enough to ensure safe handling and the contrasting red index helps with easy and quick navigation.
We're moving on to the shears. Notice that there is just the right amount of coarse G10 Black texture. We see the A400 HardTask mainly as an EDC.
The back of the lightweight, milled G10 handle is dominated by beautiful contrasting spacers that not only hold the entire back of the knife tightly together, but can also be used for your favorite pendant or loop.
Last but not least - a pocket clip. At the heel of the knife there is a double-sided wire deep carry pocket clip, which ensures comfortable yet secure carrying and, thanks to the black coating, complete discretion as it resembles a pen.
